It is a reflection of their style, favorite programs and tidiness. With that said, I would love to see what masterpieces you stare at when you sit down at your computer. Why you chose your background and how it represents you! Here is my current desktop: I have always enjoyed photography so I asked some of my friends to share some of their shots with me. After looking through a few I selected this beauty. It was taken by Donald Gray his website: http://www.websilk.co.uk More of his work: http://www.panoramio.com/user/505115 Last edited: Mar 25, 2012

I rely on the desktop toolbar and use it heavily for quick access to things I use regularly. On Windows Vista, I have the pleasure of seeing my beautiful grandgirls: Windows 7, on the other hand, I decided to keep simple:

Right-click on the Taskbar Scroll up to Toolbars, expand and check Desktop To hide Desktop icons, Right-click the desktop, point to View and uncheck "Show desktop icons". Note: After creating the Desktop Toolbar, when you save a file to the Desktop, it will automatically be placed in the toolbar. As appropriate, right-click the new shortcut and cut/paste to the appropriate folder. Tip: For visual identification of folder contents, change the folder icon to a custom icon. Right-click the Folder icon, select Properties > Customize > Change Icon

When my Desktop gets too full, I move some of the stuff into it. I can't recall what my Desktop is (I peeked, it's the Win7 default), but here's what I see when I logon: Last edited: Apr 9, 2012

Not only for it's great background tools but for its short cut keys it has. Makes moving windows to other screens much faster

I also do use hotkeys to open things.... (win+d, start typing name of shortcut, hit enter)
