SkyDrive - 25 GB Free Online Storage, Limited Time Loyalty Offer

Never heard of Spideroak. I'll take a look today. Thanks ... The funny thing is I don't trust Cloud storage so non of my important documents are in there. Most of them are in my secure FTP server :)

Generally I dont store things in the cloud as well, but the few clicks to upgrade were worth it just in case. I finally got an upload speed that might make it worth while at some point.

I concur with Shyam re lack of trust in Cloud/online Storage.

I am curious.
Just what are people storing online?
With low cost personal external HD's, Flash drives etc is external storage really necessary?

Windows users also need to take note that SkyDrive is automatically enabling a feature that is making available all of the PC’s files on the Skydrive website. While protected with an additional security code that is send to the account’s email address, it is nevertheless something that users need to consider.
It also needs consideration that sharing options can only be modified on the SkyDrive website, and not on individual PCs.
That is, other than unlinking a PC from the file synchronization.

Current SkyDrive users have the opportunity to upgrade to 25 GB of free online storage. All you need to do is logon to your SkyDrive account and choose "Upgrade my storage".

In my case, a lot of empty space!

I use the online storage for temp-type files that I send to others, like full kernel BSOD dumps. Anything vital is backed up on USB drives.

I use mine to transfer school files around... I always have a few versions sitting on my my computer/laptop/lab computers etc...

If I throw them to the sky and retrieve them each time it keeps everything straight :)

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed I missed it, too. :(

Although, I can't see myself even filling the 7 GB with what I consider important enough data but not worrisome enough security-wise to upload.
