Hello people ^_^

I am creating this thread for providing information regarding careers and freebies for students and others. This thread would be student focussed but all are welcome as usual ^_^. All are welcome to provide advice and suggest freebies related to careers only.
Let me start with sharing my experience at the Microsoft Student Partner Summit.

So, at the summit there was a test for 3rd year undergraduate students for internship and direct full time placement. I asked around the students and the one topic they mentioned which was in the first round was Pointers in C/C++.

Out of so many students (Around 500+ students who sat for the exam) only around 50 students qualified for the second round. From what I heard the second round consisted of two questions with first question being related to Binary Search Tree Data Structure. So, anyone who would be giving interviews in the Computer Science field must be strong in Pointers and Data Structures.
I also got advice on doing questions which are available at CodeChef and other such websites. People said that whosoever did questions like that should clear the second round very easily.

Now, the freebies part which I know of currently -

1. Free Microsoft Certified Professional Certification Exams. Link **HERE**. The limit is 5. I managed to get all those 5 around 4 hours ago. It is showing temporarily un-available but you could always try again at a later time. The exams are for Azure and Office 365.

2. Github Student which gives you so many goodies for free till you are a student. Link **HERE**. This also provides 200$ credit with DigitalOcean with which you can deploy Virtual Machines. The credit means you are able to run an Ubuntu VM (Most basic one) for 2 years without any payment.

3. 50% Off on Exam 70-533 (Azure IaaS for IT Pros). Register for the webinar sessions **HERE**. Join Mark Russinovich, Microsoft Chief Technology Officer, Azure, as he kicks off a week of Azure training for IT Professionals.

I will post more freebies once I find more. I am sure the more knowledgeable industry veterans on this forums and other students can provide valuable advice and freebies ^_^.

ReSharper and all other JetBrains products are free for students (you'll need an ISIC card to take advantage of it. In the UK, I renewed my NUS Extra card and was offered to get an ISIC card for £2 extra): https://www.jetbrains.com/student/

Almost all of the Autodesk including Maya are free for students. The license given with these bundles is of 3 years.

Offer - Free Software for University & College Students | Autodesk

Wow! I did not know about that! Very nice. Thank you.

You are welcome ^_^.

Also, Connectify is 75% off for college/university students. Originally, students did get Connectify Pro for free (I am one of them) but it looks like many people pounced on it. Anyways it is worth it -
Store - Connectify

Xamarin is also free for students -

Tomorrow, I am going to the Azure Conference hosted by Microsoft. It is a 2 days event and I am taking my resume with me. Is it possible that there might be counters for jobs/internships as well since many people from the industry are coming?

In regards to interviews, it would depend upon which field of Computer Science in which wish to enter.
