I really could use some help here. I've got a 2012 r2 standard box running RDS. This setup was inherited. Within a week the internet on the box failed and my RMM + webroot stopped reporting. I can ping and get DNS resolution just fine and the local LAN works perfectly. Surprisingly Chrome works fine for browsing all websites. Windows update even works. IE won't work and any software that relies on the internet for reporting home will not work. SFC comes back clean although it was corrupted at first. I was informed by an admin on this site that the system appears clean.

- I have checked all any and all malware using root kit scanners, webroot, and mbam. Comes back clean.

- reset the tcp/ip catalog.

- completely ripped out tcp/ip.

- 4 nics are in a team, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. I even updated the drivers.

- I tried DHCP and same issues remain.

Oh yeah. But if you think about it DNS isn't the problem. Chrome browser works fine. Even if you enter the IP of a website it results in the same error. This is NOT a DNS issue. There is something wrong with the system that is blocking traffic and it's not the firewall.

Nope. All GPOs are managed from the DC and as such would effect all servers and the other 4 servers are fine.

I booted into safe mode with networking to remove ESET, but the networking aspect didn't actually work. I'm assuming b/c it uses NIC cards in a NIC team. So I didn't continue down this route.

I can't get rid of Webroot since it's a cloud based application and there is no control over the local agent, but I sincerely doubt this would be the issue.

IE has been reset a few times. I went so far as to remove it completely and reinstall using DISM. Nothing changed. It goes beyond IE though. Installed apps that phone home can't get out. Webroot, NinjaRMM, Teamviewer, etc. All of them are dead in the water, yet Windows update works fine. It's bizarre.

I'm only able to delete a few of them. The others are locked and won't let me delete.

This is done, but no change. Not sure I understand why font cache would be a suspected culprit here.

Funny you mentioned that as I was literally trying the same thing myself. Not sure why I didn't think of it sooner. It's rebooting now.

Let's dig deeper:

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST64.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.
