I don't believe at these price points, the Windows RT Surface device is likely to make much of an impact on the ultra mobile tablet market, in spite of some excellent marketing so far.

Just one man's opinion but I suspect they will likely have to offer some promos or something to get many people to actually shell out that kind of money.

It's so expensive :(

I hoped that they would try to undercut everything else on the market.

:(

Looks like you get Office 2013 for free with it though when it comes out though...

I also agree, too expensive... I will stick with my laptop :grin1:

I was just hoping that perhaps this time they would not repeat their past mistake with their Zune device.
It seems that they would have learned that in order to successfully make inroads into an existing and very well populated market, they would necessarily need either to make a far superior product or else make the pricing so attractive as to be irresistible. I don't think that they have done either with respect to this new offering and I'm mildly disappointed.

If I really wanted a tablet the Nexus 7 by google would probably be my choice...

They are relatively cheap starting at ~$200 although they do lack internal memory as google thinks you should store all your files on the cloud... :banghead:

I want one of those myself! I'm just hoping Google sees sense and releases a 32GB version, 16 is just not enough!

Look what a quick Google found! http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/tablets/3405559/argos-confirms-google-nexus-7-32gb-model/ YAY!!! And £199 isn't too shabby either, same as the 16GB model.

I agree 32 would be very nice... I could probably live and function with 16 but why not have more... FFS my phone has 40gbs of storage. (8gb internal, 32gb microsd)
