Two monitors on sale & in stock in sales tax-free Delaware.

Both are same price = $139.99

I was advised to buy LED, not LCD.

Which monitor is the better choice? No high-end gaming or graphics; normal daily use - forums, kids school work, etc...

It will be connected to a laptop.

Thanks. . .

John

The only real spec difference between the two is the contrast ratio... The Viewsonic has a better contrast ratio than the HannSpree... The difference is negligible though.

Either one seems to be a good choice, although I would probably go with the ViewSonic because I have experience with the ViewSonic brand...

Spec wise, they are nearly identical.

Dated, but we used ViewSonic CRT's at work and they were very reliable.

I hate that store, I work 2 miles down the street and avoid it unless necessary.
Watch out for the small print on rebates the advertised price is less rebate make sure the dates on the rebate is still good :)

If you go have set them up side by side and see which on looks the best to you, they both should have Samsung LCD panels in them.

Buy and Amazon (according to InvisibleHand) both have that Viewsonic listed for $129 and free P&P; no links sorry, my browser settings don't like the IH iFrame URL's.

Andy.

I have no recommendation for LCD vs LED other than seeing both side-by-side as was said. However I would recommend Amazon if they have one to your liking. Up untill two weeks ago I never would have wrote that, but they have a very lenient return policy and I have gotten 2 FULL refunds and they paid return shiiping as well. Can't beat that.

Good point.

No new monitor yet... just got an electric bill for >$800. No natural gas here, unfortunately!

You need to run two monitors anyhow, jc... one 52" 1080p for doing BSOD debugging and one 32" 1080 for forum surfing!

You're right... maybe someday after the kids finish college.

By the time you get one, they will have 3D HUDs!

JC by the time you get them we will probably have a plug in our bodies for all this computer gamming and networking stuff. You will probably not need glasses at all!!!!!:hysterical:
Might need a real comfy chair though.:rofl12:
