Hi -

I had asked some questions a few days ago about 0x109 BSODs and Unknown_Images in THIS THREAD .

Luckily [or not!!], I got a 0x109 BSOD on my HP laptop tonight; Probable cause is listed as Unknown_Image.

System was running hot - CPU ~71°C (160°F) - Virus scan was in progress.

There is an 877 MB full kernel dump available (zipped = 213 MB) - http://www.sysnative.com/temp/jcgriff2_04-18-2013_MEMORY.DMP.zip

jcgriff2 BSOD collection app files attached.

What causes Unknown_Image?

Please know that my system is fine ATM; just putting this out here more for discussion than assistance. This system has experienced several BSODs over the last 5 years; all wifi driver related as I recall.

Regards. . .

John

What's ugtdapow.sys John?

EDIT: GMER running from a temp. location, ok, that explains it.

Re: hcgriff2 BSOD - Windows 7 x64 SP1

K: drive has less than 2% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

Problem devices from MSINFO32:
HP Webcam USB\VID_046D&PID_09B8&MI_00\6&10368834&1&0000 This device is disabled.

Multimedia Controller PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_10551461&REV_03\4&36436D95&0&00E2 The drivers for this device are not installed.

Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #4 {5D624F94-8850-40C3-A3FA-A4FD2080BAF3}\VWIFIMP\5&36CF6E27&3&05 This device is disabled.
Enable webcam, update driver, disable it again
Install drivers for Multimedia Controller (Likely an TV Tuner card)
WiFi Adapter 4 - what happened to 1 to 3? Right click and uninstall - reboot to see if it stays gone

This google search shows possible issues with the ugtdapow.sys driver: https://www.google.com/search?q=ugt...24,d.dmg&fp=a21a0cca16bf81a8&biw=1280&bih=610
I suggest some anti-malware scans (I have a list of free one's here: Free Online AntiMalware Resources )

Got this from WinDbg:
Code:
1: kd> lm vm ugtdapow
start end module name
fffff880`0d1cf000 fffff880`0d1df000 ugtdapow (deferred)

Not a real nice place for drivers to run from!

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
