Due to the recently reported security vulnerabilities, I disabled SSL 3.0 in all of my browsers a couple of weeks back. For the first time today though I stumbled across a website which was affected. But there was a little surprise in store :)

Which begs the question - did anyone ever actually test that error? :p

Doesn't the IE display some default Error Message page? How come this is possible then? o.O

At least the IE message is more helpful than the one Pale Moon gives:

An error occurred during a connection to ecommerce.pbb.com.

Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). (Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

IE actually links to the settings page!

Another humorous error message I found out about the other day (you can try this one yourself too):
