Amazon order lost

I recently ordered a phone case on Amazon, it wasn't very expensive, about £16.
Now, I ordered this last Saturday with one day delivery, using my Amazon Prime 30 day trial.
It arrived on the Sunday, probably with a private courier as there is normally no post on Sundays.
A few days later, I received an email from Amazon saying my parcel was lost in transit and I would get a refund, I decided to contact Amazon and alert them of the situation.
While I could have got an extra £16 I thought I'd tell the truth of the situation, surely enough the latter was the better option.
It always feels good to be helpful and honest rather than trying to lie and gain a bit of quick cash.

Just a story I thought I'd share.

I've had something similar happen but on the other side of the coin.

I've been a Prime member for something like 3 years now, anyway. I ordered a new Xbox 360 controller sometime last year and after 3 days I still had not received it. I contacted Amazon and they said that it must have been lost and sent me another one. (With free over-night shipping because Amazon is awesome).

I got that new controller the next day and enjoyed using it for about 3-weeks when.... "knock knock knock" - Controller number one arrives. Box was still in good condition and not damaged. I contacted Amazon and they just told me to keep it as they had already closed the case.

Just odd, not sure how UPS messed that one up so bad.

I swear amazon loses more packages via regular mail vs. UPS or Fedex. Newegg has had a hiccup here and there but nothing major.

It's generally the fault of the postal services whenever something gets lost though. Amazon are usually pretty quick to replace things if something has been lost.

I've only had one thing lost with Amazon, which wasn't really lost...

I've never had any problems with Amazon, their packages usually are early or delivered on time.
