( On IE9 ) I may do a windows repair for IE

I went to the Search for Windows Updates takes forever? - A possible solution sitr to see if there were new kb's to download and run. kb3185911 is new ( 9/16) and not run on this machine. I downloaded it-- the x86 type--- on a different computer and put it on a flash drive. I then tried to run the kb on the vista machine. Windows kept looking for updates. I could not cancel- had to end it via task manager. tried to run SURT--- spin, spin, spin. Don't know what to try next.

So you could seek assistance in the Windows Vista forum for it. https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-7-windows-vista/

So in my case, it looks like this thread can be marked as solved since the only issues left aren't Windows Update related.
