Windows update failing as well as Service Pack 1

Hello! I have been looking through the other threads, mainly this one (https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/5401-windows-7-will-not-update-sp1-0x800b0100.html).

I am having the same problem as this poster except I have tried everything listed with no fix. As suggested in the other thread I checked my log at C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log and here is what the results are:

Firstly, I suspect that your BSOD problem is an entirely separate issue to your Windows Update problem. Additionally, I am not very good at fixing BSODs, and the people who are tend not to browse the Windows Update forum so much. OK, this looks fixable, but it's going to be a multi-part fix. You won't notice any immediate improvement after just this post, but please stick with me.

You don't have too many errors, but several of them can't be fixed until I've grabbed from more information from your computer, waited for other parts to go through first, etc. etc.

You have really quite multi-layered corruptions on just a few components, and that makes this a multipart fix.

Anyway, let's stop talking and get on with fixing!

WARNING: This fix has been created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do not follow these instructions as you may cause serious harm to your computer.

Download a copy of SFCFixScript.zip attached to this post, and save it to your Desktop.
Then download a copy of SFCFix.exe from here: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/downloads/sfcfix/, and also save it to your Desktop.
Single click on SFCFixScript.zip and drag and drop it on top of SFCFix.exe. SFCFix will open and perform a fix.
A logfile called SFCFix.txt will open (and be saved to your Desktop). Please copy and paste the report into your next reply.

Then, re-run the System Update Readiness Tool, and post a new CBS folder (whole folder please, just for the initial diagnosis). Hopefully there will be some good improvement in CheckSUR.log.

and right click > Paste in:

dir C:\Windows\Winsxs\Manifests > %userprofile%\Desktop\manifests.txt

then zip up and upload manifests.txt from Desktop.

If you haven't already created a Dropbox account, please do so Here
Although this procedure can be done directly through the website, it is much easier to do so via the Windows client which can be downloaded from the Dropbox website:
https://www.dropbox.com/install
After you have downloaded and installed that, you should now see Dropbox in your Favourites box in Windows Explorer. This is the folder that will be synchronised with the Dropbox servers, anything that you wish to back up online can be put in here, but today we will be using it to transfer files.
To access your Dropbox folder, just click on the link in the top left hand corner of Windows Explorer (accessible from any location - Documents etc.). Alternatively, you can double click on the icon

found in your system tray (next to the time). If you are still having issues locating this folder, unless otherwise specified, it can be found under this location: C:\Users\{Your username}\Dropbox
Copy all of the following files to the Public folder in your Dropbox:
- C:\Windows\system32\config\components (it has no file extension)
Select all files by pressing Ctrl+A then right-click and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder
This will create a .zip

file in your Public folder.
Right-click on this file and select Dropbox > Copy Public Link then Paste (Ctrl + V) this link into your next post for me please.

Hey Richard!

Since your last reply my computers situation has changed. It had a major crash from a blue screen and I had to do a fresh install, now windows update works to an extent but I'm still having problems with SP1 and .NET Framework! Do you need updated CBS log?
