For your other issue you can post in our
Windows 7 forum.
Since these files keep periodically deleting I'd like to figure out what is doing it. Please do the following so that next time you come here I will have more info to go on. Thanks.
Step#1 - Enable Auditing Policy
1. Click your
Start button and type
cmd.exe into the search box.
2.
Right-click on the
cmd that comes up in the search results and select
Run as administrator. Click
Yes to allow if the UAC prompt comes up.
3. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt window and hit enter on the keyboard.
AUDITPOL /SET /SUBCATEGORY:"file system" /SUCCESS:ENABLE /FAILURE:ENABLE
4. You should see a message in the command prompt that says "
The command was successfully executed."
5. Now copy/paste the following into the command-prompt window and hit enter on the keyboard.
wevtutil sl Security /ab:True /rt:True
6. You won't see any message if it's successful.
