this website is buggy, i cant erase my uploaded image or upload my text.
or maybe im stupid.
but when i click the attachment thing a window pops up and i cant delete a 67kb picture.
why is there a limit?
how do i paste my CBS log in here?

Not sure how I got this error, but my computer started messing up after the new updates for the windows 9 ad.
After I installed the new updates i couldn't go online, open programs or do anything it was like i had a virus so i did a system restore on safe mode
and my computer is perfect.
im not updating anymore!

Hi Frankie,

Sorry you had problems posting. We have a max file size for attachments since our server and software is not designed for large file storage. CBS files are 1000's of lines long and can be pretty huge. Pasting it into your post is just far too much information for a post.

Anyway, I've got your CBS file so have made a fix for the error that it is showing.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.


  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl + C) and Paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

SFC Scan


  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
    button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

    Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

By the way I have fixed the service registration is corrupt on image 4 "snapshot5"
I did research on those new updates I think some are good but I don't even need 'em.
Some are bad I think they let you try out the new windows OS.
And also I'm a noob at forum website reply's i'm not too good with this lol.

I did the sfc scan now and I didnt find any violations nor did it leave a scan log.

Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)


  1. Download the System Update Readiness Tool from Microsoft --> here <-- Please save the tool to a convenient location as it may be necessary to run it again.
  2. After the download has completed, double-click the file and wait while it initializes.
  3. Click Yes to begin installation. Please note it may take some time to complete and may appear to stall whilst installing. Don't worry, this is perfectly normal behaviour. Also note, whilst I say "installing", it's actually running the tool and can therefore be "installed" (run) repeatedly.

hey can you help me out again? lol. i've been searching this page for ages! I go to work in 6 hours but i'll log on in the morning.
did we disable a update file or something? now I cant run windows update. I tried to start it manually but it won't start it says, File Missing.

Is this the same computer that was having issues before or a new one. If it's a new one, can you please start a new thread. If it's the same computer we'll continue here.

Can you please send me your CBS folder?

Export CBS folder


  1. Click the Start button :startorb: then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.
  8. Attach this new file to your next post.

my lunch break ends in 20 minutes so i'll be back soon.

my windows update doesn't work anymore and for some weird reason my audio drivers are disabled, the disabled audio drivers happened a couple weeks ago after i updated.
they didnt crash but my stereo mix driver was disabled and audio still worked. so i uninstalled and reinstalled real tek and no more audio.
i have audio on my usb audio card, but then last night i accidentals uninstalled and reinstalled and now my usb audio card doesn't work.
but when i open a music making program like FL Studio I can use the ASIO driver and it reads my realtek driver! and audio works.
just not when playing games or listening to music or no windows sounds....

also when i use command prompt to open a microsoft .MSU file it says access is denied :(

hey i never did this step here by the way, still want me to do this or will you check the cbs logs first? i tought my laptop was ok, so I forgot about this step. talk to you soon bud, I got to clock in back to work

I'm going to take over for Tekno Venus as something has come up and he's not able to work on this. I've reviewed your logs and would like you to do the following.

Step#1 - System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
1. Download and run the following file.
2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.
