That's OK, I don't frustrate easily, and I kinda suspected that the update might fail.
We found a number of possible issues in the logs you posted in posts #161 & #162 but not all of them were entirely file based, but since replacing the files was the simpler fix, we thought it was worth giving it a try first.
The next fix is likely to be registry related, and will depend on what I find in the two Hives you posted in posts #165 & #169
