Windows Insider Build 18836 {20H1) Released to Skip Ahead: Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18836 | Windows Experience Blog.

Edit Note: Subject edited and adding the following explanation from the referenced blog:

Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing a new build to Insiders who have opted into Skip Ahead. These builds are from the 20H1 development branch. Some things we are working on in 20H1 require a longer lead time. We will begin releasing 19H2 bits to Insiders later this spring after we get 19H1 nearly finished and ready; once 19H1 is “nearly finished and ready” we’ll also use the Release Preview ring for previews of drivers and quality updates on 19H1.

Windows Insider Preview Build 18875 Released to Fast Ring (Merged Skip Ahead/Fast Ring) Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18875 | Windows Experience Blog.

Hello Windows Insiders, today we are moving the Fast ring forward to 20H1 and merging the small group of Insiders who opted-in to Skip Ahead back into the Fast ring with the release of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20H1 Build 18875. That means Insiders in the Fast ring and those who opted-in to Skip Ahead will receive the same builds going forward.

This means that if you wish to test builds for 19H2, it is necessary to go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program and change the Insider settings to Slow or Release Preview.

UPDATE 4/16: A huge thank you to all the Windows Insiders who reported and up-voted feedback on receiving 0xca00a000 and/or 0x80242016 errors when attempting to download and install Build 18875. Your feedback has been immensely helpful in the investigation of the issue. We have determined that there is an issue with the Build 18362.53 (KB4495666) Cumulative Update that was released early last week which has caused updates to Build 18875 to fail. The issue only impacts 19H1 to 20H1 updates and occurs due to a migration failure as the OS attempts to update to the new build. To resolve this issue, we are creating a new Cumulative Update that will need to be applied on top of Build 18362.53 first before Insiders will be able to update to the latest 20H1 builds. As we work on this new Cumulative Update, we have stopped offering Build 18875 to Insiders on Build 18362.53 and holding off flighting a new 20H1 build until we can deliver the fix to unblock Insiders. Our goal is for this to happen by the end of this week. We’ll share additional updates as available.

NOTE: Windows Insiders on Build 18362.53 who were unable to update to Build 18875 will need to install Build 18362.86 (KB4497093) *FIRST* before being able to receive today’s build. Build 18362.86 includes the fix needed to update to the latest 20H1 builds from Build 18362.53. If you’re already on Build 18875, this build should come through normally.

Earlier this month, we moved the Fast ring forward to 20H1 and merged the small group of Insiders who opted-in to Skip Ahead back into the Fast ring, which means Insiders in the Fast ring and those who opted-in to Skip Ahead are receiving the same builds for now.

An interesting change being tested:

New download throttling options for Delivery Optimization

We’ve heard from our users with very low connection speeds that setting download throttling as a percentage of available bandwidth isn’t providing enough relief in reducing the impact on their network. That’s why we’ve added a new option to throttle the bandwidth used by Delivery Optimization as an absolute value. You can set this separately for Foreground downloads (downloads that you initiate from Windows Store for example) or background downloads. This option already exists for IT Pros who use Group Policies or MDM policies to configure Delivery Optimization. In this build, we’ve made it easier to set via the settings page.

Interesting change called "Quick Event Create from the Taskbar". Just click the calendar in the Taskbar and there is now a space to add an event or a reminder.

Among the Known Issues, note:

A limited number Insiders attempting to install Build 18936 may experience install failures with error code c1900101 due to a compatibility bug with a storage driver on their device. The device will attempt to install, fail, and successfully roll back to the currently installed build on the device. Attempted re-tries to install the build, either manual or automatic, will not bypass this issue. A fix is forthcoming, but there are no known workarounds currently. Note: By default, the update will attempt to install (3) times. Users may pause updates if they experience this issue and want to bypass the re-try attempts.
