Hello guys

My one month old HP laptop started experiencing frequent BSODs , after a few minutes of surfing the net or playing games. Installed my windows update. And also doing system restore to before the times where I experience BSODs. I also updated my drivers and did almost everything I could do. Even reinstalling windows.

Here's the system info :
- Windows 8 x64 (OEM version)
- Age of hardware : one month
- Never reinstalled OS

- CPU : i7-3632QM
- Video Card : AMD Radeon HD 7600M and Intel(R) HP Graphics 4000
- 700 GB hard drive , 8GB RAM

- System : Pavilion G6-2210XT

Thanks in advance :D

Hi -

Unfortunately, there are no mini-kernel dump files to process. It's possible that Windows System Restore got rid of them during the restore itself, Windows reinstall or perhaps your crash settings are incorrect.

I do see an 8.4 mb GB full kernel dump -
Code:
 Directory of C:\Windows

20/03/2013 01:12 PM 8,477,410,983 MEMORY.DMP

Copy \windows\memory.dmp to Documents; zip it up. It should compress to <5 MB - the site upload limit.

Attach it to your next post.

Regards. . .

EDIT: 8.4 GB, not MB - apologies.

No memory dumps in the upload. Please do this: Set MiniDump
Then go to C:\Windows. Zip up the MEMORY.dmp file and upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link to it here.

EventViewer shows STOP 0xFC, 0x113, 0xC2 errors
Also shows that the system tried to create memory dumps, but wasn't able to.

Please start with these free diagnostics: Initial Hardware Diagnostics
Post back with the results and we can move on from there.

There's a problem when I tried zipping up memory.dmp. It says files not found or no read permission. I am the administrator and the file is not locked for read only. Is it because its too large to be compressed ?

It's probably because it's in the Windows directory.
Copy it to the Desktop and try to zip it from there.

I tried to zip it but nothing seems to be running. So I add it to archive. And the file become 21MB and can not be uploaded. Is it okay if I add the file to 4shared ?

It is not a problem, this is what we do here and we're glad to be of help
Unfortunately, 4 Shared want's me to sign up for an account - and I will not do that.

Please try another upload site (such as SkyDrive or DropBox)

Apologies on the dump size - it was 8.5 GB, not MB.

I downloaded the dump, but am getting a 0xc0000147 exception - "No Page File" when processing it; other errors too. Dump is corrupted:

I believe the file is a full physical RAM memory dump (you do have 8GB RAM) and not a full kernel memory dump.

Please follow instructions by usasma on changing system crash settings per POST #3.

Did the system come with 8 GB RAM (2x4 GB)?

WMI reporting:
  1. 4 GB Kingston RAM stick - part # HP536727-H41-ELD
  2. 4 GB UNKNOWN Ram stick - part # CMSO4GX3M1A1600C11
I believe #2 is Corsair brand

That's an odd combination for an HP OEM system.

Run CPU-Z, "SPD" tab - review both SLOT1 & SLOT2. What is the RAM manufacturer's name for each?

Yeah I increase the RAM from 4GB to 8GB as the guy recommended me to do so. And its just like what you said, a 4GB Kingston stick and a 4GB Corsair stick. Are they the one causing the BSODs ?

Thank guys ! I took out the 4GB corsair stick and no BSODs from then onwards. Thank you for your help, jcgriff and usasma ! Really thank you !

Hi -

Glad to hear the solve was that easy. RMA the stick if possible & get a matched set.

Thanks for posting back with the outcome - very much appreciated.
