Windows 8 will not complete updates

Thank you for existing - good to know help is out there somewhere. I am not technically savvy - attempting to update Windows 8 to 8.1 and keep getting error code - at least 3 updates appear not to be completing.

Unfortunately, this error code is one of the very few which is likely to be unfixable.

It doesn't explicitly list your error code, but the problem (corruption COMPONENTS hive) is exactly the same. I need to see a copy of your COMPONENTS hive to be sure, but basically, it's unlikely to be good news.
