Every time I close my laptop and re open it or wake from sleep mode, a BSOD occurs : page fault at non paged area (nvlddmkm.sys). I upgraded to windows 8 on the release date around October 29, and the problem has happened since. I tried a clean install but it did not work.

nVidia problems in perfmon report.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions). I strongly suspect that this hold true for Win8 systems also.
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

You have Hamachi installed (part of LogMeIn). It uses a 2009 driver that probably isn't compatible with Win8. Please uninstall it.

Since you're having nVidia issues, please do the following:
- download a fresh copy of the latest nVidia drivers for your system from nVidia.
- uninstall the current nVidia software from your system.
- install the DRIVERS ONLY using this link: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...cards-driver-only-installation-procedure.html

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Very much thanks for the support, but since I have "Hybrid Power Technology" (Intel HD Graphics 4000 + Nvidia GeForce GT 630M) do I still follow this tutorial?
https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...cards-driver-only-installation-procedure.html

Notes:

1. Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets are not supported by this release.
2. The following Sony VAIO notebooks are included in the Verde notebook program: Sony VAIO F Series with NVIDIA GeForce 310M, GeForce GT 330M, GeForce GT 425M, GeForce GT 520M or GeForce GT 540M. Other Sony VAIO notebooks are not included at this time (please contact Sony for driver support).
3. Fujitsu notebooks are not included this release (Fujitsu Siemens notebooks are included).

UPDATE: I am having another problem.
I am unable to uninstall the driver and update from the control panel as the uninstaller never pops up.

Have you tried the driver from the PC Manufacturer's website?
Are the problems happening in Safe Mode, with the Clean Boot, or in normal mode?

The driver from the maker is old (306.97). I updated mine to 310.70 using normal uninstall a program with reboots. Here is the most recent BSOD ive gotten. 010413-37578-01.dmp. Thanks in advance!

As a 670M user, I would not recommend updating drivers from NVIDIA and sticking solely to your notebook PC manufacturer. Notebook PCs have special power schemes, and the drivers provided by Notebook PC manufacturer are tested for those specific schemes. The drivers provided by NVIDIA may or may not be properly tested for your notebook PC, and as a result, they may result in instability. For optimus technology, this is especially true since that technology is designed based around battery saving technology, and the Notebook PC vendor is the expert with their specific battery needs.

  1. First, create a restore point.

  2. Then download the 306.97 version from your PC manufacturer.

  3. Uninstall all NVIDIA software and drivers related to the display adapter.

  4. Then install the 306.97 driver.
