Windows 7 x64 Sp1 bsod 0x3b with U24DRV.sys

Hi

My friend ask me to help him resolve a problem with constantly occuring a bsod. Its a 0x3b error with probably faulty U24DRV.sys
He is using external sound card USB Esi UX24 on his Lenovo Ideapad Y580. He mentioned all system updates are up to date.
If something is missing I will provide it soon.

As you stated, the memory dump blames U24DRV.sys - a driver component of the USB ESI UX24 sound card.

First, there are many known instances of problems with USB sound devices.
The fixes that we recommend are:
- download a fresh set of the latest Win7 compatible drivers from http://download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=53&g=2&l=en
- uninstall the current drivers/software from the system
- install the freshly downloaded driver package
- monitor for further BSOD's

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
