Windows 7 update kb4487078 fails

Hello,

Windows update tries continuously to update kb4487078 and gives error. Since then I'm failing the google chrome browser, excell files ...
I do not know what to do, because it is the computer where I work, and I do not have restoration points before the failure. I run SFC Scan and says"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".Install kb947821 without problems. Run SFCFix and the autoanalysis gives:

Restart Windows in Safe Mode.

Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable


  • Extract the tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to c:\Windows\TEMP the zip will extract to a folder called Tweaking.com - Windows Repair
  • Execute the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder, accept the Security warning and the EULA
  • Click the button Jump To Repairs
  • Click the Open Repairs button to access the following screen:

    WindowsRepair.png
  • Click the box All Repairs to uncheck all the boxes
  • Check only the following boxes:
    • 16 - Repair Windows Updates
  • Check the box Restart/Shutdown System When Finished > Restart System
  • Click the Start Repairs button
 
Hi,

When I try to restart Windows in safe mode by pressing f8, 'Please select boot device' appears. How can I continue?
 
I followed your instructions and I tried to install updates but it failed.

Hi,

I uninstalled avira and I followed the steps again.
I tried to install updates and it failed with the same code. Now it only appears kb4487078.
CBS.log is attached.

When I try to install the update you linked it appears: "The installation assistance of the software update kb4483451is not applicable or is blocked by another condition of the equipment".
 
Okay, I would recommend that you wait for a bit because there's going to be a new update released in a few days and if that does not resolve the issue, we will dig deeper.
 
OK.I installed kb4483451 from your link and no problems. I tried kb4487078 again and it failed. I'll follow your recommendation and wait for the new update.
