E exwnest Active member Joined Oct 9, 2019 Posts 34 Oct 31, 2019 #50 When installation was failed, boot order was 1st is HDD(or SSD, only one of them can be used for booting), 2nd is CD/DVD. When installation was successful, boot order was 1st is CD/DVD, 2nd is HDD. I cannot check rest of list at this moment, but 3rd to 8th(last) is identical for both and same as default.

By the way, I think I found the culprit that preventing to upgrading to Windows 10; that is corrupted x86_policy.8.0.microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6229_none_516aa8570f4c0657.cat .

E exwnest Active member Joined Oct 9, 2019 Posts 34 Nov 1, 2019 #54 I looked into setupact.log to find out where fatal error was thrown, and it was during attempting to instal assembly associated with x86_policy.8.0.microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6229_none_516aa8570f4c0657.manifest. So I looked into corresponding .cat file and found out there is abnormality (no line break, while others have hundreds). Because the error which is originated in function CCatalog::Create , which I assume the function reads .cat file, I guessed fixing the corrupted .cat file may solves the issue. setupact.zip (13.68MB) - SendSpace.com (setupact.log and x86_policy.8.0.microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6229_none_516aa8570f4c0657.cat)
