Yes. This is not an uncommon problem when using Windows 7 shares to XP clients and requires a couple registry edits to make it go away. Best to read this article Windows 7 Nonpaged Pool Srv Error 2017 | alan.lamielle.net However; the host for that particular site seems to be up and down frequently so I will encapsulate the pertinent quotes. Apparently you need to tell Windows that you want to use the machine as a file server and that it should allocate resources accordingly. Set the following registry key to ’1′: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache and set the following registry key to ’3′: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\Size After making these changes and restarting, I haven’t seen this issue arise again. Fixed! Click to expand... Hope this helps. I know it worked for me on several different occasions.

Is your issue that you can't see other shared computers on your network or that you can see them but not connect? If you can't see other networked computers: Click the Start button, type Network and Sharing and make sure your Active Network is NOT listed as Public. If it is, change it to a Private, Home or Work network. Next, change your Sharing options and make sure Network Discovery is turned on, as well as the appropriate type of sharing - Password protected or not. Trouble said: Yes. Those IRP Stack registry modifications are basically memory management adjustments and have no affect on a system that can't see shares. If I understand Wsjtrade's issue correctly, they do not apply.

Indiana Jun 15, 2013 #5 I can only share, from my practical experience that if Windows 7 resources become unavailable to Windows XP clients over time, then those two registry edits will fix the issue. All he has to do is check his event viewer and see if his is experiencing the same errors Source: srv Event ID: 2017 Level: Error The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the server reached the configured limit for nonpaged pool allocations. Click to expand... Which is indicative of the problem being present. And yes, not being able to see other nodes on the network would be a separate problem likely with DNS or WINS / NetBIOS depending on his environment, possibly the fault of an overzealous third party security suite. Just trying to help here, based on some personal practical experience.
