Download the Sysnative BSOD Dump + System File Collection App - save to Documents folder - https://www.sysnative.com/apps/SysnativeBSODCollectionApp.exe 2. Run the app - Double-click on the downloaded EXE file Output = new folder created in Documents + a zipped version -- SysnativeFileCollectionApp + SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip 3. Attach the new zip file (SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip) with your reply. If it is too large to attach, upload to a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link.

G Greg60 Member Joined Aug 5, 2015 Posts 23 Location Canada Sep 9, 2015 #27 I am running the free version of Avast, which is currently disabled. The machine is not overclocked to my knowledge, but I am not sure of past history (inherited the mechine from daughter-in-law).

Also rename the following directory: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usbvideo.inf_amd64_neutral_23bfbf6f668380d6\ to something like usbvideo.inf_amd64_neutral_23bfbf6f668380d6.old You may have to take ownership of the directory before renaming it: Modify File/Folder Permissions Navigate to the following folder, right-click on it and select Properties: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usbvideo.inf_amd64_neutral_23bfbf6f668380d6\ Under the Security tab, click Advanced. Under the Owner tab, click Edit. Click "Other Users and Groups". Click Advanced. Click "Find Now". Scroll down and double click on Everyone. Click OK THREE times. Click on the Permissions tab. Under type Deny, single click on any entries and click Remove. (There may not be any Deny entries, in which case just ignore this step. Just remove any that do exist) Click OK. Click Edit (now on the standard file Property window under the Security tab). Click Add. Click Advanced. Click "Find Now". Scroll down and double click on Everyone. Click OK. Single click on Everyone and then tick the "Full Control" box under Allow. Click OK TWO times. After these steps, attempt to install SP1 again using the offiline installer.

The SP1 update still fails though, unfortunately. See the attached images for more info.

How long would you estimate it takes between running the SP1 installer and the error message? If you check System in the Control Panel, does it show the Acer logo and support information?
