Every time I click 'Hibernate' from the Win+X menu, the OS shuts down instead. I have attached a part of the administrative event log. Please inform me if anything else is needed. No minidump files were generated. Please help me. Thanks. View attachment SysEvent.zip

At this point, we don't even know if a notebook or PC and that matters because Hibernate is typically for notebooks, not PCs.

Thanks for the help. This problem was happening on my Lenovo Y410p laptop. Here's the configuration: CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ @2.40GHz Memory: 2 x 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 750M (2GB) Hard Drives: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (Boot Drive) + 1000 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA-II HDD Display: 1600x900 Internal Display I have tried the methods and updated quite a few drivers but the problem persisted. Out of frustration and impatience, I have formatted the partition and installed Windows 10 which is running without any problem at the moment.
