I've noticed a few other issues now too. When i click "Manage" on "This PC" it's crashing with a "Microsoft Management Console has stopped working". In event viewer it's saying

And (although less of an issue) when i 'search' (using the sidebar in Windows 8) it's not bringing back any programs. Would it be worth just attempting to update it to Windows 10 at this point? Or could that still lead to many of these issues still being prevalent after upgrading?
