Hello everyone,

many thanks to the people who help with those frustrating windows problems, I think you help to avoid heart attacs ;)

Well, here is my problem:

Since I got my Windows 8 notebook, I am suffering a number of problems with windows update. It just doesn't want to work smoothly.

The ultimate problem I am not able to solve by myself :/
The diagnostic tool says:

Informe de errores
RootCause: RC_DataStore
ErrorCode: 0x80070057
TimeDetected: 2014-05-18-T-07:39:55

InformativoCollected File
Nombre de archivo: CheckSURLog.cab

InformativoService Status
Problem with BITS service : El servicio solicitado ya ha sido iniciado.Puede obtener más ayuda con el comando NET HELPMSG 2182.

The response for NET START WUAUSERV is "System error 5. Acces denied"
I also can't find it in the services, it seems to me it isn't running.

Any ideas?
Do you need any aditional informatio, logfile etc. ?

Thanks in advance,

I would like to add this error message. it pops up when I select "search updates" in the windows update site of he control panel:

Windows Update no puede buscar actualizaciones porque el servicio no se está ejecutando. Puede que tenga que reiniciar el equipo.

Which means:
Windows Update cannot search for updates because the service is not running. You may have to reboot the computer.

Rebooting doesn't help... :-(

Please delete any versions you currently have of SFCFix and SFCFix.zip

It seems that windows is still downloading updates, in the folder SoftwareDistribution/Downloads apeared a lot of new folders.

What happens when I just clean the SoftwareDistribution folder?

The command produced no error, it seemed to work fine,
but nevertheless it didn't help :(

When I shutdown windows, it still says "installing update 1 of 22" or "installing update 1 of 11" (the number of updates varies now)
When I clic en "Search for updates" in the control panel, there is still an error message saying that it cannot search for updates because the service isn't running.

I hate my windows, why does it do this to me?

bad news....
I tried to restore my system to an old restoration point that I made right after the installation of the windows 8.1 update 1.
but this restoration point was gone!
In tryed the oldes point, that was from 13.06.
But after the reboot, I only got the error message 0x80070570, the restoration did't work.

so what can I do???

I am very sorry for the delay here.

To better have a look at whats happening here there are a few files I would like to see:

Please map to "C:\Windows\"
-You should see a file called WindowsUpdate.log
-Copy and paste this file to your desktop.

Please map to "C:\Windows\"
-You should see a folder called Logs
-Copy and past this folder to your desktop

Please map to C:\Windows\winsxs\
-You should see a file called Pending.xml
-Copy and paste this file to your desktop.

You should now have three extra items on your desktop pending.xml, WindowsUpdate.log and a folder Logs -> Please select all three files and Sent to a Zip file.

If the file is too big to upload to you next please post please upload via Dropbox or ge.tt

Hi,

surprise, surprise, I cannot find any Pending.xml !

So I can only send you the folder Logs and the WindowsUpdate.log

Best wishes and Thanks,
