Win 7 64b error 0x80070490

Hello,
my problem is that some applications are not working properly, namely all troubleshooters. The error I'm getting is typically 0x80070490 and "script stopped working"
I tried so far multiple times sfc, Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64 (SURT), resetting windows update, tweaking.com (only once as it looked to me it made more mess than benefits), and finally SFCFix.

CheckSUR.log has three (f) Payload or Manifest missing:

CBS log has many "CBS Failed to internally open package. [HRESULT = 0x800f0805 - CBS_E_INVALID_PACKAGE]" and frankly I don't understand the log well enough to interpret it. Problems started when I had some issue with my HD and it has been replaced/cloned probably with the errors. I tried to locate the missing files on my older drives, backups, Internet etc. but no luck and I don't have installation DVD (used to be company laptop). Can anyone help me please?

SFCFix Script

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, applying this fix on another computer will not work and most likely will cause problems...
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by Niemiro) and save it to the Desktop
  • Download the file SFCFIX.ZIP, attached below, and save this to your Desktop
  • On your Desktop, make sure you have the two files:
    myjIXnC.png
    SFCFix.exe and
    sfpcJCen14An3ndjNGCI7mByhjHJud.png
    SFCFIX.zip
  • Drag the file SFCFIX.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it
  • The SFCFix tool will process the script
  • Upon completion, a log file SFCFix.txt should be created on your Desktop
  • Open the SFCFix.txt log and copy & paste the contents to your post

System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
  • Download the System Update Readiness Tool (x64) and save it to some place, its a big download and eventually we need to run it several times, please keep the file
  • Run the tool. Its like an Update but it can take a long time to do the work. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running
  • Please attach to your post the log from the following location: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
    Note:     If the file is too big please Zip it and upload the ZIP file to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here.

SFCFix Script

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, applying this fix on another computer will not work and most likely will cause problems...
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by Niemiro) and save it to the Desktop
  • Download the file SFCFIX.ZIP, attached below, and save this to your Desktop
  • On your Desktop, make sure you have the two files:
    myjIXnC.png
    SFCFix.exe and
    sfpcJCen14An3ndjNGCI7mByhjHJud.png
    SFCFIX.zip
  • Drag the file SFCFIX.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it
  • The SFCFix tool will process the script
  • Upon completion, a log file SFCFix.txt should be created on your Desktop
  • Open the SFCFix.txt log and copy & paste the contents to your post

Hello,
thank you for the new files. I performed the action (no log was shown/provided) and was prompted to restart to finish the action and unfortunately got BSOD during start up. Automatic repair found "bad patch" but was unable to fix it automatically. I have restore point from yesterday when windows update installed 3 critical updates, I don't know whether this was done after or prior the logs I provided to you and thus can be the root cause. Should I attempt the system restore? I appreciate your support.

Hi,

I don't think the Fix will create the BSOD problem its most likely something else...

If you can't boot normally then yes use the Restore Point.

Is this the first time you get a BSOD on this machine?

thanks for not giving up on me :-) I restored it to working condition, I think the BSOD might be caused by one of the display adapters whom I updated the drivers recently (Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 and AMD FirePro M6100). OK now back working, checksur.log good with no errors but sfc /scannow gives CBS.log about 1.5MB large, see attached. Should I apply the fix you prepared again or wait for a new patch? Thanks for your ongoing help.

When you run SFC /scannow the normal result is "No integrity violations found" or equivalent.

when I run SFC /scannow in elevated mode the result is following:
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Ok, please attach the new CBS.log.

The log from post #14 didn't contain any information about corrupted files!
 
Ok, I ran sfc /scannow again and result is still the same "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"

The CBS.log attached.

One thing I have noticed is that the TrustedInstaller service runs in "manual" mode even if I set it to the "automatic" After reboot it is running (not stopped) but again in manual mode. Can that be some group policy?
The CBS.log has some fails:
SQM: Failed to start upload with file pattern: C:\Windows\servicing\sqm\*_std.sqm, flags: 0x2 [HRESULT = 0x80004005 - E_FAIL]
SQM: Failed to start standard sample upload. [HRESULT = 0x80004005 - E_FAIL]
but I don't know if it is related.
