[SOLVED] Various BSODs

I am so glad I found a new forum like this where I can post my BSOD troubles - full attention to me :grin1:
Full of seasoned experts too :)

Anyway to the point...

BSODs occur randomly, no program seems to cause the error (Except for PeerBlock which always causes a BSOD at some point - disabled for about a month - still BSODing)

My computer is verging unusable because it has very few stable runs (As in I don't have to reboot it more than once a day - no BSODs)
Put it this way - As a precaution I have saved this post in a text file in case it BSODs :lol: Its much more annoying when I'm using photoshop or Visual C++ Express :S which don't have autosave features

*Important Notes* While using your diag. tool (jgriff) I get a BSOD near the very end of it (The windows error reporting section I think?)

• I have manually added the latest BSOD that occurred at that test.

• I have used Driver Verifier for about 2 days, and it picked up no drivers (from what I saw anyway) - And if this is of any importance I have damn high DPC latency - it completely spikes, and disabling devices (All network/sound ones) seems to decrease the frequency. I am trying an app called WLAN optimiser, and while it again decreases the frequency, it doesn't seem to be fixing it.

• A driver is disabled (Realtek LAN driver) because it seems to affect my DPC

• The RAM is new - and works fine - but I will do a memtest86 at some point.

There is a lot going on there.
I see a program I can't ID EvoSvc.exe Do you have any Idea what it is there are a couple drivers associated with it, and it is named in one of the verifier enabled dumps. Looks like it associated with something called Evolve Service?

The Asus Ai_Suite is out of date and known to cause BSODs it can be removed or updated here> http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A88TDV_EVOUSB3/#download

Many of the dumps are 109 CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION which can often be hardware related but lets start with the 2 issues above and see where it leads.

Asus Ai has been updated

About the drivers that need updating.. you are sure that there are updated versions available?
Some of them I have no idea where to get

GEARAspiWDM.sys is an itunes provided driver
evolve.sys is provided by the people at Evolve and there is no new version

as for the others i'll look for sources

For right now I would say to uninstall Evolve and with verifier enabled lets see if the BOSD's subside.

The others on the list we can work on, do you have the latest version of itunes installed?

There are a couple that show up regularly as causing problems.

Soluto and tuneup were both removed a few days ago - I had to actually force removal of Tuneup - the installer refused to let me uninstall - So I used Revo uninstaller

In general uninstalling with revo-uninstaller is better as it cleans up orphaned/abandoned files.

Generally yeah, but it did a poor job this time. There are lots of orhpaned files and I'm pretty sure some of those are drivers/driver references in the registry.

The tuneup uninstaller wouldn't work - "Do you want to buy Tuneup?" appeared, pressing no wouldn't work

Therefore I had to rely on revo's removal, which I'm certain didn't remove everything

I ran all the dumps in the same run so those drivers may have shown up in an earlier one, but not the later dumps I'll rerun just the last to see whats listed for drivers.

Did the BSODs suddenly start on 28 March? That is the date on the 1st of the 11 BSOD dump files.


5 of the 11 dumps were VERIFIER_ENABLED, yet named no 3rd party driver. This points to unknown hardware failure.

Several of the bugchecks = 0x109 = Kernel corruption - a rogue driver has patched the kernel or hardware failure -- usually RAM itself or other hardware failure affecting RAMs ablility to properly hold kernel code.

You're Atheros wifi appears to be functioning properly. PERFMON is showing Realtek Ethernet as disabled, which you mentioned in post #1 -

I have used Driver Verifier for about 2 days, and it picked up no drivers (from what I saw anyway) - And if this is of any importance I have damn high DPC latency - it completely spikes, and disabling devices (All network/sound ones) seems to decrease the frequency. I am trying an app called WLAN optimiser, and while it again decreases the frequency, it doesn't seem to be fixing it.

Turn Driver Verifier OFF - it is nt helping at this point.
