unidentified network no internet access

This happened about 2 weeks ago and I have checked every thing that I could think of. I was using a ethernet cable so I got out a new one and changed no difference no internet. Next I reset the modem no change, so I took the new cable and run it to my wifes laptop after I turn the wireless off it had internet the modem was working, I ordered a USB wireless for the desktop got it installed it would not connect unidentified network no internet access.

Hi, coolheatplumber.

Your situation is will not be made better with the registry cleaners that ultimately do more damage than good. Modifying registry keys incorrectly can cause Windows instability, or make Windows unbootable. No registry cleaner is completely safe and the potential is ever present to cause more problems than they claim to fix. In addition, Microsoft does not support the use of registry cleaners. See Microsoft support policy for the use of registry cleaning utilities.

1. I strongly suggest you uninstall the following programs, although they may have already damaged your system:

Advanced SystemCare 7
PC Optimizer Pro
TotalSystemCare

2. Please download Farbar Service Scanner and run it on the computer with the issue.
  • Make sure the following options are checked:
    • Internet Services
    • Windows Firewall
    • System Restore
    • Security Center
    • Windows Update
  • Press "Scan".
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
  • Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

3. Please follow these instructions carefully. Download ComboFix from the following location: Link 1

!!! IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your antivirus and anti-malware security applications. If not disabled, these programs will likely interfere with cleanup process. This can usually be accomplished by a right-click on the icon in the System Tray.

    Note: If you are unsure how to disable your security software, see the instructions in this topic at Tech Support Forum: How to disable your security applications.
  • If infections are found, ComboFix will automatically reboot the machine to complete the removal process. Please ensure all opened windows are closed before proceeding.
  • Double-click ComboFix.exe on your desktop and follow the prompts.
  • Your desktop may go blank. This is normal. It will return when ComboFix is done. ComboFix may reboot your machine. This is normal.
  • When finished, a log will be produced. Please copy C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

1. Let's see if flushing your DNS cache and restoring the HOSTS file solves the problem. You will need to do the copy/paste to Notepad and transport the "flush.bat" to the computer via external media (USB/CD/DVD). Please copy/paste the lines in bold below to Notepad:

ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

Save as flush.bat to your desktop.
Double-click flush.bat file to run it. Your computer will reboot.

Note: For Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click flush.bat and select "Run as Administrator".


2. If the above does not solve the problem, let's try something else. Please download the ESET services repair tool, extract the file to your desktop.
  • Double-click ServicesRepair.exe.
  • If security notifications appear, click Continue or Run and then click Yes when asked if you want to proceed.
  • Once the tool has finished, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Click Yes to restart.
  • A log will be saved in the CCSupport folder the tool created on your desktop, please copy/paste the content in your next reply instead of attaching.
 
Donna noticed the date in System Restore of the driver install for "TLEM Network Service": 9/22/2014 2:43:16 PM - Device Driver Package Install: TLEM Network Service. Since your first post here was early October and mentioned that the problem started a couple weeks before, if that timing matches and you still cannot connect to the Internet, either roll back the driver(s) that were installed or use System Restore to return your system to before that install.
