Surface 3 On its Way!

I'm so excited: my Surface 3 (not the Pro) is to be delivered Tuesday! I purchased it online from the Microsoft Store and shipping is fast. If it were not for the holiday here Monday (Victoria Day), I would have it tomorrow.
I'm curious to see how much faster it is than my Lenovo Yoga 11 with Windows RT and only 2GB of RAM. The Surface I ordered has 4GB and 128GB of storage. I didn't order the keyboard cover since I intend to use it as a tablet-only device.
 
That's awesome! I have the Surface 1 RT and have loved it. There were some slightly annoying quirks and kinks in it, but most were fixed via Windows Update or in the Surface 2 or 3, so it really should be excellent. Enjoy!!
 
I've actually never experienced any version of the Surface, sad to say. I figured I would never be able to afford one, but since I recently sold my website, I figured I had better get one now!
 
Wow, share some pictures of it if you can! I love the surface line and really want a Surface 3 or Pro 3 (not sure which yet). I may get one (or whatever the latest one is) to replace my laptop for University. I love the idea of being able to take notes with the pen on OneNote. I really like OneNote as it is - and can see myself really benefiting from the pen input.

Interesting, I know that most reviews say you really need the keyboard to get the most of it. Did you order the Surface Pen? It'll be very interesting to see how you find it without a keyboard. They really should be included with the device IMO
 
I already have a Win7 Thinkpad that I like very much, so if I need to do any KB-intense stuff, I will use it. I didn't order the pen (yet) but I would likely get it before the KB. I'm going to take lots of photos, and likely write a review as well.
 
Does this mean I will have to get with the times and pick up a tablet too? :-(

Nice pad man! I may pick up a tablet in the future for myself... But for the time being I am going to stick with my PC and Phablet.

I did wonder how you'd get on without them. Confirms my suspicions that they're basically essential.
 
I guess it depends on how you are going it use it. Right now I am keeping it in a zippered portfolio, but I will get a cover at some point. The kickstand is a nice feature and makes it easier to use the onscreen kb.
 
Well after a few months with the Surface 3, I can say I am very happy with it. I recently purchased the pen and type cover to accessorize my Surface 3. The pen is great, especially with OneNote. The type cover is nice, and I will use it more when travelling since I still have a laptop here at home for more typing-intensive projects.
