I logged into the computer one morning and my sound was gone, which left me frustrated and looking for answers, still unable to find them and my sfcfix.txt saying to get help.

i thought maybe upgrading to windows 8.1 would fix this but clearly not. i tried reverting back to 8 but i dont know where my disc is. i have a windows 7 disc and tried to do a clean install but was denied as some error was found.

So any suggestions other then through it away would be appreciated :D

OH forgot to note, i had constant errors trying to get windows update KB2904440 which i still cannot install. i even tried to download the update outside of the installer. and still failed to install it.

I don't have time to sort through the reports right now (and I'm not an SFC fixer)
But have you tried a Refresh? If so, what happened?
How about a Reset? It's similar to a clean install (it'll wipe everything out and will reset you to Win8)

If none of that works, try posting over in the Windows Updates forum for assistance with the log files.

Those steps ask for the installer disc, which I don't have. I tried to use windows 7 disc but the computer won't allow it. And to boot from disc the harddrive is not discoverable .
