I just recently discovered a corruption in my system files (CNBJ2530.DPB), and i was following Techno Venus's guide on fixing these corruptions. As instructed, i downloaded SFCFix (advertised for windows 8/8.1), but sadly, I can't run the program. The error I get is "This program can't run on your PC". I'm hoping that this error isn't caused by windows 8.1, as the corruption was produced after the update.

Hi Alex,

I will contact the developer of SFCFix and see what he says about the problem. In the meantime, DISM should be able to fix your issue (Repair Method 1)

DISM

  1. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard and X to open up the Power User Tasks Menu
  2. Click (or tap) Command Prompt (admin)
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Wait for this to finish before you continue (approximately 15 minutes)

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

I discovered that the problem i was having (I couldn't download any updates or programs: Including the corrupted file fixes from DISM), may have been caused by a program that was being launched at start-up. I then decided to boot into clean boot. I just ran DISM as you've instructed, (I've done it previously but it "could not download the corrupted files"), and this apparently fixed the corruption. Il run <sfc /scannow> to see if the corruption is resolved, il report back after the scan is complete.

Hello, and welcome to Sysnative!

I'm the developer of SFCFix Stephen mentioned. In relation to your SFCFix problem ("This program can't run on your PC"), what sort of Windows 8 device is this? Is this a tablet or phone? Is it a Surface RT device? Do you know whether it runs on ARM architecture? (don't worry if you don't know that one).

Thank you.

Richard

The corruption was fixed after using DISM. sfc /scan didint find any corruptions, so i believe the problem is resolved, but the SFCFix still doesn't want to run, with the same error.

I'm running a SONY VAIO fit 15e, running an AMD A10-5745m APU (I don't believe it's running an ARM architecture.), with windows 8.1.

Thanks a lot for that, I'll see what I can do to get SFCFix patched up for the next time.

However, unless you have any further problems, I believe you're good to go :)
