[SOLVED] SFC & SFCFix.exe cannot fix all corrupt files; System Restore not working - Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Repeated failure of SFC /scannow and SFCFix.exe to repair/replace bad files. System cannot generate a restore point. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Follow the instructions below please.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.

Run the command sfc /scannow again in a elevated command prompt and report the result.
 
Some repairs have been done. Reboot again and report if there are remaining issues ?
 
Making progress - thank you. Having the same ongoing problem creating a system restore point.

Open the elevated command prompt. Copy and paste the following into the command-prompt and hit enter.
wmic service get name,displayname,pathname,startmode,exitcode > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\services.txt"

After the command runs there will be a file on your desktop named services.txt.
Attach this file to your next reply.

sc config stisvc start= auto

When this command is completed, close the command-prompt window, shutdown and restart the machine.
Are you able to create a restore point now ?
 
No. It started - ran for maybe 5 seconds, then this error message.

  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
    64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
  2. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  3. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  4. Press the Fix button.
  5. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  6. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  7. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  8. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

ChkDsk Scan
  • Click on Start - All programs - Accessories.
  • Rightclick on Command-prompt and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, typ chkdsk into it, then press enter.
  • Wait for this to complete.
  • Download ListChkdskResult.exe by SleepyDude and save it on your desktop.
  • Rightclick

    ListChkdskResult.exe and select Run as administrator. Notepad will open the file ListChkdskResult.txt on completion. (The file ListChkdskResult.txt can be found on your desktop.)
  • Copy and paste its content in your next reply.
