Hi there, we have a Windows Server 2016 system that's failing to install April's Cumulative Update.
The update completes the initial install, but fails and rolls back during the reboot.

SFC detected some corrupt system files but was unable to repair them. I managed to get DISM to repair the corruption, but the update is still failing to install.

SFCFix, FRST, and CBS logs can found here.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Sorry, should have mentioned that this has been tried already. Same results with Sophos uninstalled.

First noticed it a couple weeks ago when trying to install March's cumulative update. Tried installing April's update during troubleshooting and saw it failing the same way.

Well that did it! Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

So it seems like a third-party service was interfering with the update somehow?

I was able to confirm the software causing the issue by disabling its service on another one of our problem servers, and updating it. Thanks again for your help!

Not at all. We recently started an AD migration using Quest Migration Manager. Turns out its agent service deployed this past month is causing the issue. We've opened a case with their support to sort things out.
