Taking a cue out of the playbooks of famous name-changers like Ron Artest, Cat Stevens, and Prince, Microsoft isn't calling its UI design Metro anymore. Although that's the official title MS has been using for years, it's reportedly making the shift due to legal reasons—ever heard of a German company called Metro? Neither have we. But apparently they have lawyers!
In any case, considering Metta World Peace, Yusuf Islam, and [unpronounceable symbol] are already taken, Microsoft will have to carefully craft a new nom de plume. So what should we call it? Last night we asked you that question, and we went deep into the discussion to pull out the best suggestions—and added a few of our own.

LOL! And that was posted today! Aug. 3, 2012. AFTER they said they were to use Windows 8 Style UI until they gave it a new name.

Due to all the 'Metro Style" and "Metro-Style" that's been used until now, it would be foolish of that team to use some other name when referring to it. Not everyone would even now what they were talking about. Every knows it's "Metro-Style" for ages now.

You have to get the real name before changing what a brand is called. That's just nuts. IMHO.
