I have the Media Tool but don't know the procedure to reinstall (clean install) of Windows 10. Please provide details on how to do that.

Have you upgraded to Windows 10 yet? If not, you need to do that first. Of course, at that time, you can select Custom Install in which case your files, settings and applications won't be moved to Windows 10. If you have already upgraded to Windows 10, it is important that you read Ed Bott's article about how activation works: Microsoft quietly rewrites its activation rules for Windows 10.

I already upgraded from 7 to 10. How do I get 10 on a USB or DVD and how much space is needed? I assume the hard drive has to be formatted to erase current 10 installation?

Okay, reread the article above again and read some other articles I found and I'm on my way :-) I used the Media Tool 64 bit and downloaded to USB stick. Later I will format my hdd and proceed to boot from USB. If it works, I'll be back :-) If not, it will probably take awhile before I get back :-(

If you really "must" clean install, pay attention to the activation instructions. I've been hearing that, although many people have no problem, others have had issues. Good luck.

I couldn't boot from USB after downloading from Media Tool. Fortunately I had a system image created before doing this and a system recovery disc made--just in case. I formatted my main SSD and don't know why couldn't boot from USB--BIOS was set to USB hdd, USB Zip, and even tried Zip. Next step I guess is trying DVD with ISO and I need to learn that. Using Media Tool to DVD has me somewhat confused as I don't know that procedure.

I tried doing what was suggested in the article above, double clicking setup exe and choosing nothing to keep. Instead of getting a real clean install, there was an Old Windows on C drive that had some files from my previous install. It even had Windows 7 in parenthesis next to system backup and restore. There is no windows 7 restore point or system image. The only image I made was for 10 before I tried the USB clean install.

I'm not sure, but perhaps when installing 10 from media tool to USB stick, I didn't check Boot in the Burner software.

I downloaded the Media Tool 64 bit and selected the ISO. Media Tool put Windows 10 ISO on my desktop, which is where I requested it be. I then used free version of ImgBurn to burn the image to a DVD. I then used Boot and Nuke to wipe HDD clean and followed with boot from ISO on DVD. All went well and I have a clean install of Windows 10 that is activated.

Now I have lots to do putting in files and programs. But, I'm happy! ;-)
