Windows 8 users who can’t live without the Start menu have quite a few programs to choose from. One can take the help of ViStart, Classic Shell, mStart, or Start8 program to get back the old Start menu without loosing the Metro features.
Users who are looking for a Start menu program that doesn’t patch system files and add entries in the Windows Registry should check out Power8 program.
Power8 is a small utility that aims to bring Start menu to Windows 8 and does the job pretty well. Unlike, other Start menu programs, this transparent Start menu doesn’t add an orb to the taskbar. Instead, when running, you will see a small button (similar to the Aero peek button in the Windows 7 taskbar) on the extreme left of the taskbar.
