Just in regards to the BSOD - the vdisk is streamed from PVS so after I did the inplace upgrade (to try and repair Windows) and reboot the network connection to the PVS server must have been lost and therefore no boot disk found. I would need to reverse image the vdisk to be able to run an in place upgrade or upgrade to Windows 10 for example. And that's why I was trying to avoid a reinstall of Windows. But thanks to softwaremaniac's fix I was able to avoid the reinstall. Thanks very much for your help too :)
