Hello Everybody,

Since a long time I am getting bluescreens on my laptop, while playing games.
It looks like this: (note: this is not my actual screen, but a picture I found through google)
e19ac89f7c231c9be187059103b05dd9.jpg
It always bothered me, but only now I found myself having some time on my hands, so I would really like to fix this problem.
I followed the instructions of this thread, but after runningjcgriff2 BSOD File Collection appit just said "Waiting for SystemInfo" for more than 10 minutes, so I figured I should post anyway.

OS - Windows 7
· x64
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7
· OEM version
· Age of system: Manufacturing date: 02.2011
· I have not reinstalled the OS after that.

· CPU: Inter Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz
· Video Card: nvidia GEFORCE GT540m CUDA 1GB
· MotherBoard: I don't know. :(
· System Manufacturer: Acer
· Exact model number: Aspire 5750g-2418G75Mnkk

I will do these things now:
· Run - Driver Verifier - Windows 8, 7 & Vista
· Run HDD Diagnostics - http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html
· Test RAM - http://www.carrona.org/memdiag.html

Let me know if I forgot something or made a mistake!
I hope that we can solve this problem.
cheers!
Alex

Your Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?
Please enable it and update it - or enable it and remove it from your system.

No memory dumps in the upload. Please do not use a disk cleaning program (such as CCleaner) while we're troubleshooting.
MSINFO32 shows several STOP 0x116 errors - please follow the steps here to troubleshoot this error: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...-video-tdr-timeout-0x116-0x117.html#post29532

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions). I strongly suspect that this hold true for Win8 systems also.
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disc-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Should the BSOD's continue after this, please upload the memory dumps (they're located in C:\Windows\Minidump ).
Continue with the hardware diagnostics as time is available (especially the 2 sections that test video) - Hardware Diagnostics

thanks for your quick reply!
here is what i did so far:
- removed Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
- removed Daemon Tools (sptd.sys driver was not installed on my system)
- deleted the nVidia driver and re-installed it following the
"Driver Only" installation procedure
- ran the FurMark GPU stresstest and stopped it at 95°C, because this seems to be quite hot
now while running the stresstest i noticed, that although the GPU was running at 80-something % capacity the fan was shown at 0%. May that be the root of the problem?
I am using an external cooling pad, so i never thought of the possibility, that the notebook was still getting too hot.

now how can I fix that? I think my warranty is still valid till april.

i also have a memory dump now, if it is any help.

thanks so far!

Was the fan inside the laptop running? Could you hear it? Could you feel hot air blowing out of the vents?
When you take it in for service, let them know that it was overheating - despite the fact that you use a cooling pad.
Just FYI - my work doesn't allow us to use stress testers (and we do warranty repair work), so I wonder if that's the case with those that will repair yours?
When I report to the boss I tell him that I was testing it with a high end game! :0)

This memory dump shows video issues also. I'd get the hardware checked out first (under warranty), then I'd do the following:
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
