Hello everyone,

I am quite excited about the upcoming windows 10. My wife and I have two desktop PCs and a Laptop between us. The Desktops operate W7 Home Premium and the Laptop W7 Professional. All are properly licensed copies of their respective operating systems and all have SP 1 and all necessary updates.

Only the laptop has the "Get Windows 10" icon.

I have read all I can about getting the icon for the desktops but have had no success. The "GetWindows10.cmd" script, given elsewhere in this section of the forum, goes into a closed loop when run.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jared, Thank you for your reply.

The link you gave was the one that I referred to and I did run the script "ReserveWin10.cmd" After running for some time this script indicated "Success" but I have still not received the W10 icon (or if I have it is hidden somewhere!) i am not sure but it maybe that it will appear on July 30th. but as my system seems to fit all the requirements, I can't see why i haven't got it! I guess all will be revealed in due course.

Thanks again.

Jim

Thanks again, Corrine. I have just uninstalled KB3035583 with a view to re-installing it as it appears that this could solve the problem. Unfortunately Windows Update is not signaling that I no longer have the update so I am looking to reinstall it manually.

regards,

Jim

This is fun! Having verified that I have uninstalled KB3035583, when I try to re-install it I get the message "The update is not applicable to your computer!" Oh Joy!
