Hi there. I just joined up with this site 5 minutes ago, and it was suggested that I send a little "how ya goin?" type msg. So, how are ya going??
I'm having a nightmare about Windows Media Player not playing any of my mp3's, and have been working on the many fixes I found over the last 2 weeks, but so far, I have not found a solution.
Anyhoo, I decided to plug in an old large Samsung 200 GB hard drive to my Intel Bazooka system, as storage, and then found it had Windows installed on it. Prob Windows 10. I then discovered a previously downloaded piece of software that I got from this site about a year ago. It's called SFCFix.exe and I wanted to try running it on that old Samsung drive to maybe repair any system errors, because the usual SFC /scannow we always use, is normally ran on the C drive and even though I found a script to run SFC on the newly plugged in drive, it didn't work. So, I thought I"d ask one of the experts here whether the SFCFix program can be run on that drive. Which I will do in a sec.
I'm a seasoned lady, that being, I just turned 70 (shame I know).....but I've been interested in computers since the old 486 days, and used to do a home call-out computer repair service a few years ago, here in Perth, Australia where I live.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix Windows Media Player v12 on Windows 11, I'd love to hear your advice. Please bear in mind that I have been trying to fix this problem for weeks and have dloaded many scripts, vbs's, cmd and reg ideas already. I'm not sure whether I should go further into explaining the situation here, except to say one of the error messages is "windows media player encountered a problem while playing the file", but there are other errors displayed as well, some to do with Windows telling me I don't have the correct permissions on my own music folder? I will keep at it.
Bye for now.
