[SOLVED] .Net Framework Missing/Corrupt

Hello from new member softeyes. :wave:

Desktop computer; Windows 7 Ultimate

With every Microsoft Security Critical Patch Tuesday, the following always fails:
KB2901983; error "WindowsUpdate_00000643" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

At this moment, the registry does not have an entry for .Net Framework <not one version>

I had started a topic at BleepingComputer.com; I was directed to post in your forum to have my issue looked at to perhaps find a resolve.
What I have done to this point might be easiest understood by reading my thread at BC. If there are any further questions about what I have done,
I will be thrilled to share.

A. CBS.zip will not uploaded to attach. The file is within WinRar; I do not know of a way to save the file as a zip differently.

B. Following this step: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/318785 I do have v.3.5 showing in the registry

I feel like the .NET Framework is just a mess. <and so am I!>

From all of my Microsoft searching and reading, .NET Framework does not seem to be a critical program;
however I am frustrated why with every M$ security patch, the .NET Framework 4.5.2 shows up as 'failed'.

Alright! In that case, let's start with confirming that both SURT and SFC have nothing to report.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Scan
Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log;

• Download the right version of SURT for your system;
  • Your version of Windows is: Windows 7 SP1 x86
• Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go throught the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes);
• On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log;
• Attach this log in your next reply;

Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.

Forum Note: CBS.log your file of 4.64 MB Bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 976.6 KB for this file type.

My note:

1)log is available to copy and paste
2) The zipped file is in WinRar which will not download as an attachment (confused...it looks like "something" is attached?)

Post #6: Ran SURT, posted that I was having difficulties attaching the log file. My system is Windows 7 Ultimate x32 bit (not x64 bit and your link was broken <sent you a PM> I downloaded the x32 version and ran SURT)

Post #7: Posted that the log file: CheckSUR.log was not showing in <Computer<Windows<Logs<CBS

That's where I stand, West Coast time 7:32 PM. I will not return to the computer until late afternoon 1/25/2016.

In that case, can you run SURT again? It's supposed to output a CheckSUR.log, even a CheckSUR.persist.log.

Okay folks...enough.

I have posted way too many times that I am having troubles getting this CBS.zip file to attach.
I uninstalled WinRar in the attempt to get past that hurdle. It makes no difference.

I ask, Please...direct me as if I have never-ever used a computer how to get the file to attach so we can move forward.

If it's time that this topic be closed, and I find other means to resolve my situation, please feel free to let me know.

Alright now we're talking :) Alright so the CheckSUR.log doesn't report anything. Let's see if it's the same with SFC.

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;

• On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator
• On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
• On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
• Enter the command below and press on Enter;
  

  sfc /scannow

  Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
• Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
  

  copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

• A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;

• Download MiniToolBox and move the file to your Desktop;
• Right-click on MiniToolBox.exe and select
  
  Run as Administrator (for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 users);
• Check the following options:
  • List Installed Programs;
  • List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors;
    
    
• Once this is done, click on Go and wait for the scan to complete;
• Once the scan is complete, a log will open. Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply;
