MVP Interview: "Old Rich"

Very confusing with the names . . I was named after two uncles . . "William" (who was called "Bill" ) and Richard ( who was called Dick ) . . The family called me "Dick" after the favorite uncle I suppose . . I grew up being called " little Joe" . . fathers name! ) When I started school, I was usually called Dick because the uncle named "Richard" lived in the same town, except in sports where the Football coach was in the Marines with Dad. . . he continued to call me "Little Joe" all thru High School )

When I started playing football in college, I signed up as "Rich".

When I joined the Marines They automatically printed "William" on the name tag and it stuck with them. ( not the most flexible of folk! )

During most of my career I went by "Rich" until the corporate pier pressure nudged me to use "W.R." and externally as William R. . .

Now that the memory is not what it used to be, I can usually tell who I knew from where by what name they call me.

When I signed up with TSF I used the user name I had with the company, but then asked for it to be changed to "Rich" . . that one was taken so I ended up with "Old Rich"

. . probably TMI . .
