Mozilla sent Firefox Version 29.0, referred to as Australis, to the release channel. No security updates are included in the update. Rather, the update to Australis incorporates major GUI (Graphic User Interface) changes. Some of those changes include are listed in my blog post, Mozilla Firefox 29.

What are your thoughts of the update? Personally, I didn't find anything in the update to be value added -- move value removed. Glad I switched to the Pale Moon browser.

I don't Firefox anymore, so won't be able to comment on Firefox 29, but I use Pale Moon now too. Thankfully, I could import all my bookmarks.

I've used Mozilla browsers from the days of K-Meleon, switched to Phoenix, which was renamed Firebird and finally renamed Firefox. Having used it for so many years, I have it highly customized. The incorporation of the "Bookmarks Toolbar" into the Nav bar is particularly important to me for getting to references and sites easily and the biggest problem with the new design of FF. Certainly, I could probably find an add-on that would solve the problem but I don't need to since Pale Moon works as expected.

To not be completely negative about the FF update, I do like the appearance of the curved tabs. However, merely working with Firefox 29 for short periods of time today, it would hang and then resume.

I did a comparison between Pale Moon and Firefox 29 and annotated the differences that stood out the most for my usage. To see the full size, click the image below.

Security updates were not included with the release of the new version of Firefox 29 yesterday. Since then the Security Updates have been published.

The update includes five (5) Critical, six (6) High and three (3) Moderate updates.

OK...you got me confused. If they were not included when it was released, how do you get the updates. I just checked mine and it says FF is up to date. Clicking on your hyper link all I get is what it fixed, no actual updates.

I think she may mean that the information wasn't released with the Firefox 29 update yesterday.

Correct, someone at another forum told me about the security updates, indicating they were posted a day after the release.

For those for whom the desire to retain the old Firefox format is paramount, may I suggest Noia 4. I have been using it for several years with great results. The file name is: noia4v200rpre4 and can be located at:
[Edit Note: URL Removed. See reply.)
All you need do is install the xpi file and then configure. I attached a photo of it with my extensions installed. If your game, give it a try. Use Mozbackup to save your profile should you wish to go back but, I don't think that will happen.
The version in the photo is Firefox 30 beta1. I would like to know what you think of it?
i have added the rest of my extensions for viewing with another photo.

Toggle find bar and Wot are not shown.

Hi, pepegot1. Welcome to Sysnative Forums.

I edited your post to remove the download link for Noia because support has been discontinued by the developer. See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/noia-4/
Noia 4 -the successor of Noia 2 eXtreme- offers many skin types, easy Personas usage and many settings inside 'Noia 4 theme manager'.

---------------

Noia 4 discontinued. Read info on main page or support forum.

Corrine,
Noia 4 has been discontinued but, it still works and will help others to customize their screens to their liking. I have no trouble with the Firefox 30 (Australis) Beta1 release. If someone wanted a facsimile of what I have presented, they would have to Google to get the URL. Thanks for leaving the file name intact.
