Firefox 18 was sent to the release channel today by Mozilla. Included in the update are twelve (12) critical, seven (7) high and one (1) Moderate security update. Based on the extensive list of security updates, it is recommended that the update be applied as soon as possible. Included in the update is the revocation in trust of two TURKTRUST certificates.

To get the update now, select "Help" from the Firefox menu at the upper left of the browser window, then pick "About Firefox." Mac users need to select "About Firefox" from the Firefox menu.

I downloaded version 18 earlier this morning.
I have noticed that in this version there is a very annoying pop up flag that often comes up on the left hand top corner of the screen, when I visit some of my favourite web sites.

"Would you like to activate the plug ins on this page?"
NO I DO NOT!
It then offers a download of Adobe Flash. Even if "Do not notify me again" is selected.....this seems to be ignored, and a little while later this flag comes up again....:banghead:

I wonder whose bright idea to annoy the users this is....

If it wasn't for my add ons, I would have already ditched Firefox...
