Mozilla ends Firefox support for Windows 7, 8, and older Macs

I'm sorry to be a cynic. IMO the affected users are the ones least likely to contribute to Mozilla.

Little point in Browser developers continuing to produce versions for unsupported Operating Systems, they're insecure.

Of course convincing some people that they are, is an exercise in frustration, but as more and more developers stop producing updates, then maybe they'll "see the light" at last, and bow to the inevitable and upgrade.

Equally, it can be a tremendous amount of work trying to maintain backwards compatibility or different versions for older operating systems. Windows 10 only has a couple of years left now, I feel that's going to become the next Windows XP though: thousands of users still using it well past the support date.

You say that but I remember we had a user in the Windows Update forum who was determined to stay with his Windows Vista Starter/Home Basic edition laptop which was running with 2GB of RAM! Of course, he was complaining about why he couldn't install anymore updates...
