Mozilla Dropping Support for NPAPI Plugins

Effective in 2016, support for NPAPI Plugins will be discontinued in both Firefox and Firefox ESR -- except for Adobe Flash. Silverlight, Java, Unity and other plugins will stop being supported in Firefox by the end of 2016.

Close enough. Good move Mozilla. A bit late compared to Google Chrome however I guess this means the same will be true for every Firefox-based forks?
