Learning ASP.NET

I feel like I need to learn something from the Microsoft world, and figured I would do something that I new a little about. So I guess that I need to know what IIS stuff I need to install to work on some ASP stuff. There seems to be a lot of options.

I've never set up a .NET server before so I will be of little help there.

I do however know that visual studio sets up a local host .Net environment when debugging if you wish you use that

I think that IIS are already installed on windows 7/8/8.1... you just need to activate.
