Windows 7 SP1 (64bit) - have seen this error, from others, on your forum. I followed the directions to gather the diagnostic data but did not take any actions to edit or fix anything.
Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
Press the Fix button.
The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.
Step 2: Warning: The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it on your desktop.
Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.
SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.
Thanks Peter! Here's the info and I didn't try re-installing the updates as I'm not sure if we're at that point yet:

Great! You fixed the Wndows update referenced in this thread. The office updates are failing with an 80070663. Should I start a new thread for those or does sysnative.com not even deal with Office issues?
Nice. I'm not so familiar with Office update problems but we can have a look.
FRST Scan:
Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
Press the Scan button.
Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
Attach the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt to your next reply.
Step 2: Update Java
Uninstall the outdated Java version "Java 7 Update 67" first.
Open this web page to download the latest version. Click 'Free Java Download' and then 'Agree and Start Free Download'.
Download the installer jxpiinstall.exe and run it.
Click Install and then Install>. Warning: You may get a choice to install additional software and/or allow to change your browser settings. Uncheck all that!
Step 3: Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
I can see that particular KB in the list of failed updates but not in the list of Updates that need to be installed. I even restored all hidden updates and checked for new. So I went and downloaded it directly from Microsoft. Looks like it installed. It gave me no feedback; good or bad.
Please zip all files in the folder C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and attach it to your next reply. Note: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Filedropper or One Drive or SendSpace and provide the download link.
cbs.zip attached. There were some cab files in there that I just assumed you didn't need... plus they were large. If you need them, let me know. Thanks
