Internet Explorer does a sign in loop. If I go to Yahoo Mail and click on an external link in an email, it opens a new tab with the link and then goes back to Yahoo Mail. I am noticing other sites keep looping back to the page I am clicking the links from. This only happens on Windows 7, but not on 10. Thanks!!

Hi DanID,

Are the machines up to date regarding Windows Updates?

What links do you click on and does it matter what kind of email it is, e.g. an email with a link to download software, to verify your email or to see an order you made.

What you describe sounds a bit like a download link, but knowing little about the situation I can only speculate.

thank you, Yes, both machines are completely updated to present. It happens when I click any external link in an email in yahoo mail. eg. link to log into my insurance company, bank etc.

I fired up IE 11 on my 32 bit Win 7 desktop computer and signed into yahoo email. I clicked on external links in several emails and a new tab opened. IE is slow but eventually the new tab showed the contents of the site in the link I clicked on.
So I'm unable to reproduce your issue.

I'll fire up my 64 bit Win 7 laptop later and test it.

thanks plodr after you open the link in a new tab, then log into that site like I do with my insurance company, it tries to log in then eventually goes back to Yahoo Mail ,, I just found out that Yahoo Mail is NOT does not support Internet Explorer anymore. I switched browsers. Thank you!
:)

Good to know because when I tried on my 64 bit computer, after I logged in, all I saw was a blank screen. I tried several times and got no where.

I rarely use IE. In fact, the only time I fire it up is to test for others. I'll make a note that Yahoo doesn't support IE so if I see any one else with a problem, I'll tell him/her to use a different browser.

plodr, I run a small computer business in my retirement and I am surprised at how many people still use Internet Explorer and Edge, they are slow and susceptible to malware. I have used Internet Explorer myself when accessing multiple Yahoo Mail accounts, as when IE Frame Merging is turned off, IE windows are isolated from each other, I finally started using private windows in other browsers to do that. IE is also such a laggard browser, but I have to admit it's a little bit better in Windows 10 verses Windows 7, but I suggest to just stay off of it! Thanks for your responses and help! :)

It works here.

Internet Explorer is my favorite because of the Windows sounds.

But I have Chrome and FFox installed too - and do use them at times.
